Org. Setting and Reporting

This position is located in HVAC Unit / Engineering Services Section, United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), Naqoura. The incumbent will report to the Chief Electro-Mechanical unit (Electrical / HVAC unit supervisor) or his/her designate.

Responsibilities

1.Working on electrical power distribution panels, electrical wiring in concrete buildings and prefabs.
2.Panel assembling for water pumps and control heavy machinery using the programing logic control (PLC).
3.Maintaining and repairing of water pumps, boilers and various types of electrical appliances and machines.
4.Installing, maintaining and repairing of pole mounted street and security lighting in the Naqoura HQ.
5.Installing, maintaining and repairing of alternators, control and distribution panels for various sizes of generating sets.
6.This position involve providing technical assistance with the following: 

a.Security machinery: road blocker, barriers, alarm system-sliding sliding gate – keypad & remote control system.
b.Maintain helipad equipment : rotating beacon , HAPI control light , windsock light , taxi light , etc …
c.Panel assembling for water pumps and control heavy machinery using the programing logic control ( PLC ) of Solar power production – off grid – parallel with the grid – batteries bank – new type of solar invertors.
d.AC generators synchronizing and parallel system: backup generators & ups for server rooms.

7.Duties may involve covering the 24/7 Electrician duty roster. 
8.Perform other duties as assigned.

Education

High School diploma or equivalent (technical certificate / vocational school) is required. National diploma in electrical installation technology is desirable.

Work Experience

A minimum of three (03) years of progressively relevant experience.

Languages

English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the position advertised, fluency in English (both oral and written) is required. Knowledge of another UN official language is desirable.

Assessment

Evaluation of qualified candidates may include a technical test, which may be followed by competency-based interview.
