Org. Setting and Reporting
This position is located in Policy and Best Practices unit in the Office of Deputy Head of Mission, United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), Naqoura. The incumbent will report to the Policy and Best Practices Officer or his/her designate.
-Support Policy and Best Practices Officer in performing assigned duties; Monitor processes and schedules related to the Unit’s output, products, and tasks.
-Generate a variety of reports/databases on the status of the written guidance in PBPO and collect data to include in PBPO monthly report.
-Liaise with several units/branches to collect, arrange the work in an efficient way, coordinate the Unit induction training session.
-Research, extract and compile basic information and technical data on specific programmes/projects, perform data entry and data management functions.
-Sort, consolidate, extract and process data and enter into relevant database,
-Assist in monitoring developments/issues on subjects or areas assigned by collecting, selecting, analyzing and compiling materials from multiple sources, e.g., relevant databases, the library and the Internet;
-Assemble original statistical material, adjusts reported data from different sources and load data into computerized database system;
-Assist in the evaluation and examination of data sets for accuracy, clarity and validity,
-Assist in the maintenance of relevant computerized databases;
-Prepare a variety of reports, presentations, tables, lists, graphs, charts and/or diagrams for information and review by senior officers,
-Review, store, classify, and maintain relevant computerized databases;
-Take notes and draft executive summaries of meetings; prepare and archive minutes of meetings;
-Manage the checkout process of outgoing UNIFIL personnel through FSS; collect EoARs (End of Assignment Reports), and post them on Policy and Best Practices internal page.
-Collect and archive handover notes and end-of assignment reports from civilian and military personnel.
-Perform other duties as required.
-Knowledge of best practice concepts, products, and processes.
-Ability to keep track of multiple ongoing projects simultaneously.
-Good computer skills, good knowledge of and internet research capabilities are required.

-High School diploma or equivalent is required.
-A minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in collecting and researching data across various areas of social and economic development or related areas is required.
-Experience in a fast-paced, international working environment is desirable.
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the position advertised, fluency in English (both oral and written) is required. Knowledge of another UN official language is desirable.
Evaluation of qualified candidates may include an assessment exercise, which may be followed by competency-based interview.
